Hi everyone,
I played in the Europro tour at Burhill from the 28th to the 30th of May. The course was in great shape despite being extremely hard, you had to land the ball on the greens as if you landed it short it would most often land off the back of the green due to the firmness.
In the first round I played very solid apart from a couple of mistakes. I had 2 birdies, an eagle, 4 bogeys and a double bogey. The eagle was extremely pleasing as it was a par 5 with tough tee shot which I hit perfectly and then hit my 22 degree rescue club to less than a foot, just missing for albatross. I was pretty happy with my overall score and just needed to cut out the mistakes.
The second round was blustery and there were some showers blowing through. I started on the 10th hole and had birdies on the 13th and 15th to be 2 under par after 9. Then the rain came, I had bogeys on 1 and 2 before on the third tee shot I had the club slip out my hands due to the rain and unfortunately I ran up a triple bogey 7. We had a rain delay yet again on the 4th green where we were called off the course for an hour. Once we got playing again I played the last 6 holes in level par. Unfortunately I missed the cut by 2 shots, the triple bogey on 3 proved extremely costly which was very frustrating as I feel like it was the weather rather than a bad swing which led to it.
I had still played some very good golf and had taken a lot of good thoughts on parts of my game out of the week.
Thanks for reading
